Chevron Quilt

My dear friend Tiffany welcomed her third baby at the end of June.  I knew she would love a quilt out of the Riley Blake Chevron fabrics.  It's so "in" right now, and goes with her Chevron boy's room.  I had a hard time deciding how to use the bright bold fabric. Then I remembered the beautiful Lifesavers Quilt over at Red Pepper Quilts.   I carefully looked at all of the pictures and made my own calculations.  I wanted to do the squares a little bigger and cut charm squares (5x5 inches) but then had to do my corner pieces 5 1/2 inches square.  It took a little bit but it all came together.

The final quilt was about 42x42 inches.
I really liked the Teal chevron so I used that for the back.
The top came out great and them it came time to quilt it.  I kind of winged it one afternoon while the baby slept and the boys played with the girls next door.  I ended up with and outside stitch and an inside stitch around each lifesaver.  And then a double stitch on the inside squares.  It came out better then I thought it would.  My husband even said wow, that looks great quilted.
Love when all the points line up.

Ready for baby Greyson.
