I love the end of the summer when all the berries and peaches, and pears are ready for eating and canning. It's a way to capture summer and enjoy it when there's a foot of snow on the back lawn.
I've only been making Jam the last few years but I don't think I'll ever go back. It's just that much better. This year I've done a batch of apricot, what I'm calling "Forest Berry", Peach Raspberry and Peach Strawberry. Yum Yum Yum 22 jars in total. We will give some to Grandmas and Grandpas but the rest will last us about a year, until next year when we can do it again.
And what better to do with fresh jam then to make a peanut butter and jelly sandwich!!
